About Our MD

Hi, I’m Lucy — CIPD Chartered Fellow and an experienced Head of HR.
I founded Bitesize HR in 2022 with one clear aim: to make HR Director‑level HR expertise accessible to every organisation, not just large corporates. When businesses have the right HR support, they reduce risk, improve productivity, and create workplaces where people can genuinely thrive.


We offer flexible HR support designed to fit the needs of organisations at every stage — from early growth to established teams.

Here's something the big agencies don't want you to know - the Tribunal insurance they sell you is a false economy, and if you have Employers Liability Insurance (which you should!) then you're most likely already insured for legal support! Agencies offering legal support will be exceptionally risk averse. That means longer processes, additional steps, and a tendency to delay decisions — not because it’s best for your business, but because it reduces their risk exposure. In many cases, you end up following a more complicated route than necessary, paying in your time and getting frustrated. 


Work with us and you’ll have access to senior HR expertise — the kind usually found in corporate HR Director roles — at a fraction of the cost of hiring in‑house. We'll advise you on risk throughout and if we think you need legal support, we'll let you know.


Here's a little about my HR career

From 2008 to 2024 I worked in large, corporate businesses including New Look Retailers, Peugeot Citroen, Balfour Beatty, Interserve and Mitie.  My experience is varied across lots of industries from Warehousing, Retail, Engineering, Construction and the NHS which has given me a great, all-round experience in all aspects of HR. 


I am most at home in manual environments, with typically male-dominated workforces and lots of Employee Relations and manual handling issues.


Throughout my HR career my job has been to decode all things Human Resources for Line Managers and for junior HR colleagues. I've worked in a number of Generalist HR roles across my career, supporting large numbers of employees in one location, as a Regional HR contact visiting sites across the South of the UK and also in Shared Services providing remote Human Resources advice and support to managers across the UK. This rounded experience gives me great insight to understand your businesses, the people challenges you face and therefore how Bitesize can best support you.
